We bought this piano on Oahu about 10 years ago. We were told it belonged to Imelda Marcos, though I have not been able to figure out how to prove that. I figure if it can be proved, then it would probably be worth a lot more. There really aren't many Steinway spinit pianos for sale. Front legs need some work, but they don't seem to be an integral part of keeping the piano stable. Cosmetically in fair condition, but it sounds good. Asking $1,800. I have decided to make them available because they are a great replacement for the stock bridges on Danelectros and even old Silvertones...... ONLY if you are thinking of rebuilding and making that hollow masonite body string through. But the difference is truly amazing !!! Forget the 'jangle' you've heard about...just add this bridge and change the pots to 250K and suddenly it has lots of mids as well as highs. The truth was ... its wasn't the pickups after all......it was the top mounted bridge and the pots! Screws are not included in this auction but any beveled wood screws work fine. The originals screws used on Silvertone/Danelectro bridges were only hardware grade! The ukulele is in overall good shape. It has had very little play time. It has been glued by a professional instrument maker, but some of the glued area has come apart. (see pictures) The ukulele has the date stamped on the inside. Kamaka states: Kamaka ukuleles have been made since 1916, so if you are fortunate enough to have inherited an older model, you may be curious about when it was made. From 1916 to 1975, date stamping was used on the interiors of the instruments.
